Han watched as Idrenis and some of the other leaders were arguing about what needed to be done. Several weeks had passed, and the Overflow didn't appear to be lessening. Though the numbers were nowhere near as high as in the beginning, due to Queen's minions, there was still enough to wipe them out.
"What would you have us do?!" Idrenis shouted at the Finance Minister.
"Your men and their constant repairs are going to bankrupt this city!" He yelled back at her.
"Then how about you get on top of the wall and contribute!" She scoffed at his short-sighted mentality.
Leaning against the wall, he watched as they went back and forth like it was a daily ritual. The fact the Overflow was still going strong, even at night, was causing everyone to be on edge. Having to fight constantly, the guards were starting to become exhausted, unable to relax when their shift ended.
What was causing the most worry was how the armor they were wearing seemed to wear out faster than projections estimated. Materials used in the armor were scarce, so they only had a limited supply stored.
"Idrenis, we should talk about the number of casualties there are. If this keeps up, we are going to be in danger." Sarah, the Chief Medical Advisor, spoke up. "We are doing the best to patch them up, but they are too exhausted. The wounds they are getting more severe the longer this is going on. Based on what I am seeing, we will be in trouble soon, and I do not need to be a strategist to see this."
"Enough. Idrenis, I know you have done all you can, and without you, we would not have lasted as long as we did." Relissa ended their squabble.
Han could see Relissa was just as exhausted as everyone else. Having to mediate between the various factions, and trying to come up with a plan to save everyone would be mentally straining.
"Master, I understand you do not want to step in but are you sure this is the right thing?" Brittany asked Han, guilt on her face for doubting his intention.
Han placed a hand on her head and gently stroked her hair. "Do you have doubts?"
"I do not mean to question you, I apologize." She lowered her head, trying to hide her face.
Bringing her head close, he lowered his head and pressed his lips to her hair. "There is no reason to feel bad." When she turned her face towards his, Han whispered, "I created you, so there is some of me in you and you in me. You should know you are free to come to me with your doubts."
Brittany nodded her head, giving him a shy smile and blushing from hearing him voice his heart.
"Master, I do not feel we should concern ourselves with saving these people. We already know heir fate is sealed." Anacolis harshly answered.
Hearing Anacolis made him smile, thinking about how she sounded cold just like how someone would picture a snake to be like. Anacolis and Aracia were extremely similar in their personalities.
Queen was quiet, as she focused on the task Han had given to her. Even with the effort of managing her summons since the start, Queen still looked pristine.
"Though each of you has such differing views, I greatly appreciate how you can speak your mind." He grinned, happy to have them with him.
Glancing over towards Selestra and Ha-Yoon, they looked at peace with what was happening. He was surprised they were able to take such a standoffish approach to this predicament. The way they were acting seemed less like humans and more like his creations.
There were doubts in his mind, whether his stance was right. Instead of interfering, he felt watching this until the end was important. To change the events of history just because of his whim did not feel right
"What right do we have to change a pivotal event in history." He wondered out loud.
"There is no reason to feel anything for these humans, Master. My sister is right. Their fate is sealed. If we were to save them, then would we need to look after them constantly?" Aracia sneered at everyone in the council, who were trying to figure out how to survive the Overflow.
"I think they are noble, in their attempt to survive even in the face of such a hopeless cause," Brittany said, resting her head on Han's chest as she held onto him.
"Hmph!" Aracia snorted at Brittany's comment.
"There is no reason to fight, sister." Anacolis tried to cheer up Aracia. Anacolis ran her fingers down the side of Aracia's face, brushing aside her hair.
Happy how the two sisters had each other, Han gracefully removed himself from Brittany and walked over to where Selestra and Ha-Yoon were standing.
"How are the two of you doing?" He asked them.
"Though I should be feeling bad for them, I do not. Is there something wrong with me?" Selestra asked Han, her face showing confusion and worry.
Han chuckled and shook his head. "There is no reason to feel guilty for not feeling something. Sometimes events happen and not wasting energy thinking about them is the best thing to do."
He thought back to when he stood at the entrance to his bedroom. The sounds of the two locked together in passion, as they hid their relationship from him crossing his mind.
Placing a finger on Selestra's chest, just above her heart, he felt the rising and lowering of her breathing. Han also enjoyed the soft feeling of her breast. "What we feel is our business and not the business of others. All you need to remember is people may come and go, but what we are is all that matters." He lifted his hand to her face and cupped her cheek.
"I know in the beginning, I thought we needed to save these people... But in the end... You are right. This is all that matters." Brittany placed both hands on top of his and smiled.
"What brought about this change?" He asked her.
"I was thinking about my own life up until this point. There were so many things I thought were important in my life, but when I was about to be eaten by that monster during the class trip, I realized there were so many things I thought were important were not. There was only one thing I truly wanted" She glanced at him and blushed, but continued, "Walking around this city and seeing everyone fighting, I felt they were fighting towards something. It may or may not be important, but they are at least going towards it just like I am." Taking his hand off of her cheek, she placed it on her bosom and said, "I am also fighting for something I know is important, and something I do not want to lose."
Lowering his head, Han placed his forehead onto hers and whispered, "You do not have to worry about losing it because it is yours already." He then moved his head and kissed her.
When he pulled back, he smiled at how bright red her face was. Her eyes looked dazed, in addition to her large smile.
Turning his head, Han looked at Ha-Yoon and asked, "How are the students?"
Ha-Yoon was examining Idrenis and the others and didn't seem to hear him. It took her a moment to realize he had asked her a question. Startled by Han's question she stammered, "Y-yes! The students are d-doing fine. They were initially frightened, but after learning the city was able to keep the monsters at bay, they calmed down a little. Some of them were concerned with how they were going to get out of this situation."
"What about you?" He asked, wondering what caused her to be in such deep in thought.
"I am doing okay. There are thoughts about what will happen to us, but I try not to think about that." She said, trying to appear cheerful.
"We will be okay. Just stay by my side, and it will work out." He smiled.
Ha-Yoon blushed and appeared flustered. Not saying anything, she just nodded her head.
"While they are talking, how about we go get something to eat?" He asked Ha-Yoon and Selestra.
"I am not particularly hungry, right now." Selestra passed on Han's invitation.
"I am also not...," Ha-Yoon was about to say, but was interrupted when Selestra nudged her.
"You should eat. Lately, you have been looking distracted, so this will be a good opportunity to relax. Han would also appreciate your company." Selestra added in.
Looking between the two of them, Ha-Yoon let out a shy smile.
Han offered his arm to Ha-Yoon. "I am glad that you will join me."
She linked her arm with his, and they walked out of the central building where everyone met to talk with the Priestess.
Leaving the building was like entering another world. There was a mixture of relief and fear from the ongoing events with the Overflow.
"When do you think the city will be overrun?" Ha-Yoon suddenly asked him.
In the background, Han could hear the laughter of children, which was strange to hear in a city soon to be destroyed.
"I think it will be in the next couple of days. Just by looking at the guards, I can see they are being stretched beyond what they trained for. Walking around the city, I overheard people talking about supplies for the armorers to work on when repairing the armor for the guards is getting dangerously low. Hearing the Chief Medical Advisor talk about how many injured are coming in, is letting me get the picture someone is going to make a small mistake leading to something big."
He saw a group of mothers shopping with their children, their faces trying to look brave in front of the young kids. "They probably sense something is wrong." Han thought to himself.
Ha-Yoon noticed Han drift off and asked, "What were you thinking about?"
"Those mothers are trying to appear cheerful in front of their kids, and it made me wonder if they can sense the oncoming danger." He answered.
"You could save them." She quietly stated. "Back on that monster world, you were able to kill so many."
"If I saved them this time, what about the next? Do I just stay here for the rest of my life, as some kind of Overflow barrier?" He glanced towards Ha-Yoon's face.
"I..." Ha-Yoon started saying but realized what she was asking of him.
"You probably never expected to be the teacher of such a cruel student?" He asked, jabbing at her a little.
Ha-Yoon's face fell, and she looked away. "There is nothing cruel about you, Yi," Her voice trembled.
Han stopped walking and looked at her. "What is wrong? Even back on the monster continent, I feel you are in great pain." He moved so he was in front of her, and touched her arm.
"There is nothing wrong." She brushed aside his concern. "I did not mean to make you think I was troubled. I am sorry." Ha-Yoon flashed him a smile, to convince him there were no issues.
Han shook his head, rejecting her attempts to project everything was fine. "I do not buy that. There is obviously something wrong. If there is a way for me to help you, I will."
"Please, Yi. I am fine. There is nothing to worry about." She said more firmly.
Seeing the way her smile was starting to crack, he raised his hand to her face. Ha-Yoon flinched from his touch but accepted it. "Ha-Yoon, you mean something to me. I know we have only recently grown closer, during this trip, but it does not change what you are to me."
"You can only say such things because you do not know the whole picture. I know you would turn away if you knew." She looked sad as if this moment could only exist in fantasy.
"There is nothing you could have done which would change how I feel," Han assured her.
Ha-Yoon turned her face away from his hand. "I could only wish it was true, but I know who I am. At least in these moments before the city falls, I can forget about the person I am where we came from. I can pretend I am someone who could deserve someone caring like you." She continued walking in the direction they were going.
Turning around she laughed, "I am starving! We should hurry and eat something delicious!"
Seeing her walking away so happily was tarnished by how hopeless her expression just behind the fragile smile.
He didn't know what he should do, as he watched her walk away from him.
------------
Thomas sighed as another monster immediately took the place of the monster he had just killed. It felt like he had killed hundreds of them, but they never stopped. As one of the close-quarter guards fighting on the wall, he knew killing these things was the only way to keep those he loved protected.
"Damn! Those bastards!" Frank, a friend, cursed as he slew another one.
"We can do this!" He tried to encourage Frank, while also convincing himself though Thomas didn't feel it was the case.
Frank took his sword and stabbed it into one of the monster's eyes, blood spurting onto his armor and face. "You smell like piss!" He drove the blade deeper into the skull of the monster. Yanking the blade out, he breathed laboriously as blood splattered from his mouth.
"There is no way I'm going to let these buggers kill me before I get to watch you and that beautiful woman get married. How else am I going to get myself piss faced drunk with a buxom bridesmaid on my lap!" He hacked into another monster, as he fantasized about Thomas's wedding.
Thomas laughed, hearing his friend's goals. "One of these days you're going to get one of those women pregnant and have to marry them."
"I might as well let one of these monsters eat me before that happens." Frank shuddered.
"I think those women would prefer to be eaten before they have to carry one of Frank's kids." Another guard overheard them and laughed.
"Piss off! Who asked for your opinion?!" Frank jumped back from one of the monsters swiping at him, before getting close to it and bashing the creature with his shield. The monster growled from the hit before gurgling blood from where Frank's sword pierced its throat.
"You little shits better get your head into this, before you end up getting your belly sliced open and watch your innards spill out!" Their squad leader chastised them.
"Yes, Squad Leader!" They yelled back at him.
"Mages, get ready!" A voice yelled out off in the distance.
A yell of relief came out of Frank's mouth, hearing for the call for mages. "Finally! I can't wait until our break so I can get some rest. Maybe I can have one of those cute nurses give me a rub down and a little extra for my brave work." He chuckled looking at Thomas.
"Frank, watch the fuck out!" Thomas yelled out at him, as he saw one of the monsters leap over the wall and swung a long claw towards Frank's chest.
The claw appeared to slowly travel towards Frank, as Thomas rushed towards Frank.
Frank's expression looked stupefied by Thomas's outburst, and then in surprise when he turned around and saw the monster.
Thomas could hear the claws make a screeching sound as it tore through the armor, followed by the sounds of cracking bones.
A guard near them quickly disposed of the monster but was too late to prevent such a stupid accident from happening.
"Mages, FIRE!" A voice yelled in the background and the area around them lit from the flames flowing over their heads.
Reaching Frank's side, Thomas cursed him, "You stupid fucker! Didn't the squad leader just warn us about staying focus on what's happening around us?!"
Coughing up blood, Frank tried to grin. "Looks like I'm not going to get to have fun with those beautiful bridesmaids." Looking up at Thomas, he said, "I know I'm not the serious type, but I started to spend time with Erica and was hoping to ask if you would be okay if I asked your sister out." He coughed some more, looking in a lot of pain.
"When did this happen, you fool." Thomas tried to laugh at this information he was hearing, as he partially understood what was happening.
Frank tried to chuckle but ended up making gurgling noises and coughing. "I know right? Your sister is way out of my league, but she makes me happy and I dream about maybe having a..."
Before Frank was able to finish his sentence, it was like his body relaxed. One moment, he was laughing and telling Thomas about a dream of his, and the next Frank was in Thomas's arms completely lifeless.
As Thomas was just sitting there holding Frank, covered in his blood, he could hear a distant shouting. Faintly recognizing flashes of lights, and mages falling. The river of fire over his head starting to fizzle out.
"Come on, we need to go and tell my sister the good news. I know she'll be happy to be with you. She would always ask me to find out if you were interested in her." He laughed, remembering the look on his sister. "The two of you should come to my wedding, together as a couple. It's going to be a great time. I can't believe Ashley agreed to marry me, I'm pretty lucky." Thomas kept talking, holding his closest friend's dead body dearly. Tears streamed down, the sorrow contrasting the chaos around him.
A large shadow loomed behind him, uncaring of his loss and the pain he felt.
------------
Han watched at Ha-Yoon looked so animated as she ate the food, talking about how delicious it was. If he hadn't seen the expression she had on before, he would have never guessed something was going on.
"This chicken is so tender and juicy. I wish I learned how to cook like this. My lack of culinary skills always made me jealous of those women who were able to prepare delicious dishes for their loved ones. I doubt a guy would want to try the burned food I produce." She laughed, cutting another portion of chicken.
As she chuckled at her joke, he tried to smile and pretend things were okay. It made him wonder if this is how he appeared after walking into his apartment and entering that room. Did he have an expression saying, "I'm about to head to the grocery store, you want me to pick up anything for you?"
Looking at the entrance, he noticed his creations and Selestra were standing there trying to respect his privacy, but also looking like they needed to see him. He motioned for them to approach him.
Brittany walked quickly over, the others more casual.
Anacolis and Aracia were glancing at everyone around them as if they were expecting the people eating to launch an attack.
"Master, the guards on the wall have failed in keeping the Overflow out. It will be only a matter of time before this entire city is overrun. Despite not wanting to interrupt your meal, I felt it was necessary to inform you personally." She glanced at Ha-Yoon, who was quietly eating her food.
Standing up, he said, "Let us head to where Relissa and Idrenis are. They likely already know the situation, but we probably should go there anyway." Turning to look at Ha-Yoon, he said, "You should probably get the students and adventurers."
"Anacolis and Aracia, I want the two of you to look after Ha-Yoon and make sure she is safe," Han ordered the sisters.
------------
Watching as Yi headed out of the restaurant, she looked back at the food on her plate before heading out as well. Seeing the food sitting on the plate made her think about how at that moment life was simple. She was just a woman enjoying a meal with a man, who cared about her and would likely move heaven and earth for her.
There was a brief flash of Eric's face, his sadistic smile flashing across his face as he toyed with her.
"Is there anything wrong?" Anacolis asked.
She shook her head and continued walking back to where the students and adventurers were staying.
It appeared like the news hadn't reached this part of the city yet, considering how everyone looked calm and peacefully going about their lives, not knowing the monsters had breached the walls.
"Where are the monsters at?" Ha-Yoon wondered.
"The guards set up several lines, so they are likely being held up. Those lines were not meant to hold off the monsters indefinitely, so it is likely they, too, will fall soon." Aracia answered her.
As they quickened the pace towards the Inn where everyone had stayed, she was amazed at how swiftly things escalated. One moment things seemed to go smoothly and then life happened.
Ha-Yoon was tempted to yell at the people to hide, but then where would be safe? There wasn't much point in anticipating something inevitable. This city would fall and everyone would be devoured.
In front of them was the Inn they stayed at. Quickly bursting through the entrance, she surprised everyone before continuing to run up the stairs. Pounding on each of the closed doors, she yelled, "Everyone, out NOW!"
Seconds passed before students and adventurers poured out, standing in the hallway looking confused or dazed from being woken up.
"What we have been expecting has happened, so we need to head to the Central Building. It will be the safest spot for us, at least for now." Ha-Yoon directed them.
A flood of questions rushed at Ha-Yoon.
Feeling overwhelmed, she shouted, "We do not have time to talk about this! You all know how this ends, but our best bet is to stick with Yi! He seems to have a plan, so being near him is our best bet!"
"Why should we go with him?! He's the one that got us into this mess!" One of the students shouted at her. Several of the other students and adventurers murmured their agreement.
"Yeah! There are plenty of people who survived the Overflow by hiding. We should find a place to hide, instead of trying to fight them." Another agreed.
Ha-Yoon watched as many of the students began arguing, though the majority felt going with Ha-Yoon would just get them killed.
She looked at Aracia and Anacolis, looking at them as if to plead for them to help, but the two looked indifferent to her plight.
"Our Master requested we keep you safe, not idiots who do not realize salvation when it is right in front of their nose." Aracia sneered at the students and adventurers making her thoughts very clear.
"My sister is correct. You are important to our Master, though at this moment I am unsure why this is. So much effort is being wasted in trying to help those who will not even help themselves." Anacolis added in.
"We can not just leave them, knowing what will happen!" She begged them.
Anacolis slithered closer, jabbing one of her fingers into her chest. The nail felt like it could pierce through her body, as easily as dipping a finger into the water.
"Though our Master has shown you much consideration, you still keep your loyalty to those who do not deserve it. While these humans act united, they would abandon you at a moments notice. Even you, yourself, do not lay bare your thoughts to our Master, keeping your secrets without the worry of consequences. At some point, you will need to get off of your fence and choose which side you fall on. Will you stand with our Master or with these insects!" Anacolis snarled at her.
"I-I do not know what..." Ha-Yoon began to say but was cut off by Aracia.
"There is no need for you to make excuses. Both of us can see through you, and how you are not your own master. Though you may have acted as if you sided with our Master, you have yet to make your choice." Aracia crept closer to her and lowered her head to whisper into Ha-Yoon's ear. "I do not want any doubts as to what I will do to you if you decide to move against our Master."
The two beast people moved away from her, letting her decide what she needed to do.
Ha-Yoon sadly looked back at the students and adventurers, and stated, "I will be leaving to head to where Yi is. Any of you who wish to do the same can follow me."
Without bothering to hear a reply, she turned around and headed down the stairs, as Anacolis and Aracia stared down at her.
Walking down the stairs, what the two beast people said rang in her mind. "I would never do anything to hurt Yi." She adamantly said to herself.
In the back of her mind, a voice quietly whispered, "But what if your Master asked you to?"
--------
Idrenis stared at a map of the city, trying to figure out how they were going to continue to hold back the Overflow. The guards were going through their armor too quickly, and with not enough supplies it would be difficult for them to last much longer. Without the armor, the mages would faint due to overuse of mana.
"As long as the mana stones hold out, we can repair the armor. We still have a chance as long as those stones hold." She clenched her fist as it rested on the table.
A door slammed open, and Yi along with his group entered. Judging by the expression on his face, something must have happened.
"What is this insolence!?" One of the advisors shouted, at how brazenly Yi walked into the room. They had given some leeway in allowing him to listen in, but the way he entered the chamber was very disrespectful.
"I no longer have time for your petty rules," Yi stated as he walked in. He looked over to where Idrenis was standing and walked over to her.
"Yi, you can not just brush aside those who advise the Priestess." She tried to warn him gently.
He ignored her concern, and stated, "The monsters have gotten over the wall and are in the city. In a matter of moments, this city will be overrun."
For a second, Idrenis thought she had misheard what Yi had said. "That can not be possible. Yes, the guards are tired, and there have been casualties, but we can last for at least a week more." She denied what he had told her.
"Whether you want to believe me or not is up to you, and not my concern. The forces you have surrounding this place will be like a pebble in front of a crashing wave. They will be ground into dust, and everyone here will die." He looked at her without any doubt in his eyes.
Those eyes looked to hold far more than someone his age.
As if something clicked in her mind, she quickly turned towards the Priestess and ran to where Relissa was sitting.
"I need to protect the Priestess!" This thought rang through her mind, as something came into focus. "The guards should have lasted at least another week, but if the lines fell than the stones..." She hoped she would make it in time.
------
Ha-Yoon ran towards the central building, running back to where Yi was. As she was racing through the city, the word overtook her about the monsters breaching the defenses. People around her were scrambling over one another, looking to escape from being eaten.
In the middle of the street, a little girl was crying all alone. The girl was holding onto a stuffed animal, screaming for her mother.
Seeing this image, Ha-Yoon was transported to when she was laying against the Prince. Her hair was sweaty from the savage sex the Prince enjoyed. She could feel the blood dribbling down her back, from when he carved another lunar glyph into her skin.
On her back was a very intricate design to celebrate the moon, while also marking her as his. The Prince would strap her to the bed, and ride her like an animal. As he thrust into her, he would meticulously carve a new symbol into her skin.
In the beginning, she would cry and beg him to stop, but slowly developed a perverse pleasure in feeling the knife cut into her flesh. She knew no one wanted her, and he was the only one who would keep someone as disgusting as herself near them.
This night, the Prince was in a cheerful mood which would always make her feel apprehensive.
"Did you see those soldiers look surprised when my men and I suddenly appeared? They were like, 'How did he know we would be here?'" He laughed uproariously, reimagining the faces of the soldiers he butchered. When his laughter died down, he asked, "Do you know how we knew where those sheep were?"
Ha-Yoon felt herself flinch from his question. "No, Master. I would not dare to think myself more knowledgeable than you." She whimpered hoping he would be happy with her response.
"Of course a whore like you would not know!" He grabbed her hair and yanked it back, causing her to yelp in pain. "My father told me those cultists had members hidden high up within the enemy's command. These forces are different from those poor saps who are somehow mind-controlled into following the orders from the Cult of the Gods. I was told this was how that stupid city was overrun by those monsters. One of their own betrayed the city and sabotaged the defenses."
He seemed to admire the image and changed to another thought, "I wish I knew how they did that. Maybe I would make it so you thought of yourself as an animal. Then you would match what you are on the inside with the outside."
"You were just some scum we picked off the street, crying on the ground holding that ridiculous stuffed animal." He let go of her head and rested his hand on her shoulder. Not wanting to offend him again, she quickly embraced him and started to kiss his chest hoping to improve his mood.
The memory of that night faded away, and she quickly realized what she had forgotten.
----------
Idrenis rushed to the Priestess's side, connecting what she had heard and what likely happened to cause the monsters to overrun the City Guard's defenses.
"Priestess, we need to leave here immediately," Idrenis whispered into the Priestess's ear.
"What do you mean?" She looked confused by what Idrenis was telling her.
"Your life is in danger! I think we have been betrayed!" Idrenis quickly glanced at the other advisors and council leaders.
"Idrenis, what is the matter?" Sarah walked up to Idrenis, looking concerned about Idrenis's erratic behavior.
"I think one of the advisors or council leaders have betrayed us, to the gods." Idrenis tried to keep her voice down, preventing the others from being alerted.
Sarah raised both of her hands in shock, alarmed by this development. "How can you know that? Our Priestess would have detected anyone with the influence."
Idrenis shook her head, "I do not know how we were infiltrated, but there is no other explanation for what has happened. The monsters have broken through our defenses. They were still holding strong, and the only thing to have caused them to fail is related to the mana stones. Those stones would have passed through one of their hands." Idrenis glared at those she suspected.
"What!? The defenses have fallen, and the monsters are in the city!?" Sarah yelled out, distressed by the news.
The others heard Sarah's shout and turned to the three of them. "Did you say the defenses have collapsed?! That is impossible, we are good for at least a week!" An advisor shouted in terror at this horrific news.
"Such a thing is ridiculous," Another advisor stated.
One of the members of the council heard this, and his face paled in fright. "We need to get out of here, immediately!" And ran towards the secret exit out of the city.
"Wait a minute!" Idrenis yelled after the man, suspicious about the reaction. Everyone else just stared at the man's quick response and began shoving each other out of the way.
As everyone was running, the doors crashed open, and one of the people who arrived with Yi barged in a while holding a small girl. Two beast people closely followed her along with several of the students in tow.
"Yi, I know why the defenses were overwhelmed," She shouted out at him. "Someone has sabotaged the city and the reason why the city is being overrun!"
As Idrenis stared at the woman and wondering how she knew there was a traitor, she felt a sharp pain penetrate her back. Turning around, she saw Sarah holding a bloody dagger in her hand.
Sarah smiled. "Looks like the cat is out of the bag." Seeing how Idrenis was reacting from the news, she answered, "I am not one of those useless people we use, so your precious Priestess can not detect me. I know, there are not many of us so why would we bother? Your little Priestess has ruined a lot of plans we had, so I was placed to stay close by. No one would expect a medical expert to be a traitor, right?"
Turning her back to Idrenis, she casually glanced at Idrenis and said, "Do not worry, you have been paralyzed with a powerful poison, causing your insides to slowly melt. You can still watch as I kill your precious Priestess."
Idrenis saw as Sarah walked towards Relissa. She desperately tried to make her body move, but it didn't respond to her wish. "Run, Relissa!" She coughed out with all her strength.
Relissa was sitting on the seat with a brave face, not wanting Sarah to have the satisfaction of seeing her act like a coward.
Idrenis tried to scream out again, but her voice was barely louder than a whisper. She begged Relissa to run away, but it was futile. "Damn you, Sarah! How could you do this?!" Idrenis cursed but knew Sarah was too far to hear.
"Aww, you look so brave, Priestess." Sarah mocked her, laughing. "Too bad we do not have more time or I would have had some fun with you. Unfortunately, I need to run towards the exit before the monsters arrive."
Idrenis watched as the dagger in Sarah's hand lifted high.
In a flash, Yi appeared behind Sarah, grabbing her throat. "Just because I do not intend to interfere in this event does not mean I plan on just letting you scum do what you want," Yi muttered, breaking her neck with his hand.
Letting go, Sarah's body lifelessly flopped to the ground.
"It seems our time in this fine city is coming to an end. Though I did not want to show too many of my cards, it looks like I will need to for us to leave this situation." Yi said talking to himself.
"Relissa, I will give you a choice as to whether you would like to leave this hell hole." Yi offered, extending his hand.
Seeing how Relissa was hesitating, Idrenis saw him look back at her. "Yes, I figure you are the reason she is having difficulty choosing."
Yi pulled back his hand and then headed to Idrenis. He squatted in front of her and said, "Normally, I do not like to meddle in someone's death. I feel like I am overextending my authority, in addition to death seeming like a better choice compared to living in this pointless world."
He fell silent for a moment, before starting again, "But... Luckily for you... You are not dead, so this soft rule of mine does not apply." Jerking his head back to indicate Relissa behind him, Yi said, "I also think this girl would miss you if you died, and considering you became like this trying to save her I will help you out."
Yi reached out his hand, and Idrenis was overcome with a feeling of peace and happiness. It felt like everything beautiful in this world was flowing into her body. When Yi let his hand drop to his side, her body felt stronger than it was before.
Standing up, Idrenis held her hands in front of her and stared at them. There was a strength she did not feel before, flowing throughout her body.
Looking up at him, she began to ask but was halted by his index finger on her lips. "Sometimes it is better not to ask."
He turned around and once again offered his hand to Relissa. This time Relissa grabbed her hand. "Good. Now, how about, you see your friend. I feel like she is feeling confused by her changes." Yi led Relissa towards Idrenis. Relissa let go of Yi's hand and rushed to give her a hand.
The two of them held one another, sobbing in happiness that both of them were safe.

Seeing the two girls looking happy, Han turned towards the others. He was surprised to see Ha-Yoon carrying a young girl.
When he gave her a questioning look, she said, "I saw this girl in the middle of the street alone. I could not just leave her there."
"Well... I guess there is no harm in adding another passenger." He sighed in resignation.
Han noticed the number of students was lower than the number that arrived in the city. There were also no adventurers in the group.
"Master, it appears the others have an illusion about surviving without Master's assistance," Anacolis stated.
Hearing this, Han shrugged his shoulders and said, "Considering our presence is no longer required here, or welcomed, why not change to a more inviting location?"
Considering this was his first time traveling, he brought up the system menu.

Han noticed the new option, "Saved Locations," and pressed it. A list appeared with recognizable dates and locations.
[City of Felicitas
Input Date: XX/XX/XXXX XX:XX AM/PM
Confirm/Deny]
Cross-referencing with another date, Han altered the time for the City of Felicitas file. He decided being gone for a month was enough to not make things to big of an issue. "Not too much should have happened in a month." Han thought to himself.
As he pressed the "confirm" button, he pictured everyone around him tagging along to the front of Felicitas.
The world appeared to twist and disappear.
